Je cours Debian Stretch avec MATE desktop 1.16.1. Depuis que j'ai mis à jour le package mate-settings-daemon je ne peux pas changer mon arrière-plan, il affiche le fond d'écran utilisé pour l'écran de connection. J'ai essayé de le changer de la manière habituelle dans Control Center -> Apparence -> Arrière-plan mais quand je sélectionne un nouveau fond d'écran, rien ne se passe. J'ai aussi essayé de changer certaines configurations avec l' dconf editor mais encore sans succès.

J'ai le même problème.
Une solution de contournement rapide pourrait être d'utiliser feh:
feh --bg-scale <imagefile.jpg>
Une autre solution qui n'a pas besoin de feh est la suivante.
Il semble que le fond d'écran est bloqué avec l'arrière-plan de connection. Ainsi, vous pouvez modifier l'arrière-plan de connection et la seule chose dont vous avez besoin après la déconnection et le redémarrage (pas de redémarrage).
Changer l'arrière-plan de connection se fait via update-alternatives (si quelqu'un connaît mieux, dites-le moi). En tant qu'user root, vous devez émettre deux commands à partir de la command line:
update-alternatives --install /usr/share/images/desktop-base/login-background.svg desktop-login-background /absolute/path/of/your/image 50 update-alternatives --set desktop-login-background /absolute/path/of/your/image
Puis déconnectez-vous et reconnectez-vous et le fond d'écran sera celui que vous avez sélectionné. C'est ce qui a fonctionné pour moi au less, quand je n'étais pas au courant de cette question; J'aurais voulu être. J'espère que le bug sera corrigé, alors c'est pour l'impatient, je suppose.
Bug corrigé : Après la dernière mise à jour, le problème est résolu, vous pouvez maintenant changer l'arrière-plan du menu correspondant et il devrait fonctionner comme prévu (travaillé pour moi au less).
